A rookie police officer is being celebrated as a hero by his department for helping save the life of a stabbing victim over what was

NORWALK - A rookie police officer is being celebrated as a hero by his department for helping save the life of a stabbing victim over what was a violent weekend in Norwalk.

The Norwalk Police Department says Officer Justin Bisceglie was able to tend aid to a man bleeding profusely from a stab wound to the back. The man is now listed in intensive care.

The stabbing incident was one of several violent calls Norwalk police responded to over the weekend. The victim was only one of several men who were either stabbed or beaten in five different locations.
