MILFORD - Local travel agents are getting calls from people looking to plan last-minute getaways. 

Travel agents say that many Connecticut residents are trying to escape the winter weather.

She warns that last-minute getaways can be expensive, and says it is better to book six months in advance.

Jayne advises travelers to make sure their passports are not expired and to get travel insurance.
