BRIDGEPORT - A jury convicted Russell Peeler on Friday in the retrial for the 1998 murder of a rival Bridgeport drug dealer.
Peeler was found guilty of fatally shooting Rudolph Snead in a Boston Avenue barber shop.
The state Supreme Court had overturned Peeler's initial conviction in 1999.

Peeler is already on death row for ordering the separate murders of 8-year-old B.J. Brown and his mother, Karen Clarke. The boy was supposed to testify against Peeler in the Snead case.
Peeler's attorney is disappointed with the outcome and will appeal, saying his client maintains his innocence.
Sentencing is set for October.
