FAIRFIELD - Sacred Heart University's basketball team is among those trying to move forward after the death of a former student and teammate.

Prosecutors say 23-year-old Chauncy Hardy was killed on Sunday after being punched in the face, while at a bar in Romania. Police say the suspect is in custody.

Teammates say while they are still mourning his death, they are also proud of him for traveling to a foreign country to follow his dream of playing professional basketball.

Hardy had just started his career playing professional basketball for a Romanian team after graduating from Sacred Heart in 2010.

Amidst the pep rally festivities, marking the start of Sacred Heart's basketball season, there was a moment of remembrance for Hardy.

Sacred Heart and other universities played Hardy's favorite song, "Crazy Train" at the pep rallies in his honor.
