NORWALK - Dozens of people gathered in Norwalk at Saint Paul's Church on the Green for an observance of the summer solstice.

Church leaders say that they prayed for blessings in the upcoming summer season and lit a bonfire Sunday night.

They say the solstice traditionally honored the presence of the sun in the summer, represented by fire.

Leaders say a few congregants even jumped over the fire as part of the observance.
