WILTON - Generator sales are booming in the wake of the hurricane, as people across southwestern Connecticut vow to be ready the next time around.
Earlier this week, Cannondale Generators in Wilton had 432 generators.
They say that number is now down to a few dozen left.
Owner Paul Bonomo, Jr. says he and his crew have been working 16 hours a day trying to help the thousands of people who still have no power.
He says Hurricane Irene has convinced many of his customers that a generator is an important thing to have, not just for this crisis, but for whatever emergency may come down the road.
Bonomo says despite the incredible demand, he has made a public promise to his customers not to raise his prices above pre-hurricane levels.
