Salvation Army holds 5th annual food drive in Greenwich

(07/22/10) GREENWICH - The Salvation Army held its fifth annual Town Hall Employee Food Drive today at Greenwich Town Hall.

The drive accepted donations of canned goods and non-perishable foods and brought in about 1,200 pounds of food. Donations came from town employees. Alison Brush, of the Greenwich Department of Social Services, said the turnout indicates the thoughtfulness of town workers.

"I really want to thank the town employees because I see the same people coming here every year and there is recognition because we've been doing it for five years now,? Brush said. ?They understand that there is a need in town."
