BRIDGEPORT - The Bridgeport Board of Education will soon notify parents about their decision to rehire or permanently replace a popular principal.

Superintendent Paul Vallas says Byron Williams, principal of the Bridgeport Military Academy, was fired from his position two weeks ago after failing to submit paperwork required by the state.

Parents say they're unhappy with Williams' interim replacement, and would love to have him back.

Vallas adds that the public's overwhelming response has led him to reconsider his decision.
