School bus hits utility pole in Fairfield

Fairfield police say a school bus carrying children hit a utility pole this afternoon.Investigators say the accident happened at around 3:30 p.m. on Burr Street.

FAIRFIELD - Fairfield police say a school bus carrying children hit a utility pole this afternoon.

Investigators say the accident happened at around 3:30 p.m. on Burr Street. They say the bus driver dropped a cell phone on the ground and was looking for it shortly before the accident.

Officials say there were nine students on the bus from Tomlinson Middle School. None of the students were injured.

Police say they will continue to investigate what happened.
