Section of Route 1 to be closed in Norwalk

NORWALK - Some Norwalk residents and business owners are concerned as the Connecticut Department of Transportation is getting ready to temporarily close a busy section of Route 1.

The closure starts tomorrow between Wilton Avenue and Hoyt Street

The closure is so the DOT can reconstruct the railroad crossing.

State officials say all businesses will remain open and there will be detour signs in place to guide drivers and pedestrians around the work area.

However, they are urging people who either pass through, or come to, this area to build extra time into their commute to allow for delays.
