HARTFORD - AP Senate and House Democrats have reachedagreement on a plan to tackle Connecticut's current year deficit,scheduling votes for Friday night and Saturday.
House Minority Leader Lawrence Cafero says he was notifiedFriday afternoon by the Democratic House Speaker that the House ofRepresentatives would be coming in for an unusual Saturday sessionto vote on the bill.
The deficit for the current fiscal year, which ends June 30, hasbeen estimated to be as high as $500 million.
Cafero says he hasn't seen the legislation and was disgustedthat Republicans were given less than 24 hours notice of thesession.
Senate Democrats planned to caucus behind closed doors, startingaround 6 p.m. Debate on the bill would follow. A copy of thedeficit bill was not made available to the media as of Fridayafternoon.
