EASTON - Easton residents have overruled town zoning officials in order to give the go-ahead for a Sept. 11 memorial in front of the town library.
The move ends a long dispute on where to place the memorial.
Peter Hanson, his wife and their 3-year-old daughter were killed in the Sept. 11 attacks. Hanson's daughter, Christine, was the youngest of the Sept. 11 victims. The family lived in Easton.
One town resident says the memorial should be in front of the library so it can be seen by all residents.
