NORWALK - Friday's hot weather meant an early start to the weekend for students at several Norwalk schools.
Nathan Hale Middle School and 10 others Norwalk schools were the only ones in the area to close early as temperatures Friday reached nearly 90 degrees.
Classes were still in session in Bridgeport, much to the chagrin of some parents. Instead of closing campuses such as the Read School, the district sent fans and water bottles. The superintendent said that it was a tough call balancing the hardship for parents picking up their kids early.
Back in Norwalk, parents told News 12 that adding more air conditioners in school buildings would alleviate the problem. Some added that they would be willing to pay higher taxes if it meant getting those air conditioners.
