BRIDGEPORT - A Bridgeport woman and her seven children are at risk of becoming homeless due in part to state and federal budget cuts.

Sharee Edmonds recently lost her job, and says she will be forced out of her Lindley Street apartment by the end of the month. She says two of her kids suffer from sickle-cell anemia and that one is in a wheelchair.

Edmonds adds that she has visited nearly every agency in the city to help her cause, but that it is still an uphill battle.

Councilwoman Lydia Martinez says she is exhausting all resources to get Edmonds into emergency housing.
