Shelton H.S. students honored at Fairfield University

SHELTON - Five Shelton High School students were honored today at Fairfield University for their science experiment that was chosen to be launched into space on shuttle Endeavour yesterday.

The five seniors described yesterday's launch as a ?pinch-me? moment as they watched their science experiment blast off into space.

The students say their experiment tests the effects of gravity on the cell walls of bacteria. They say when Endeavour returns, they will perform tests to see if the lack of gravity made the bacteria walls weaker.

The science experiment will return back to earth in 15 days and the students say they are anxiously awaiting the results.
