SHELTON - A century-old house atop a cliff attracted much attention Wednesday after part of the foundation and dozens of trees crashed down the hill, leaving the house on edge.

The vacant, colonial house on North Oak Avenue became the center of attention Wednesday after the surrounding earth gave out Tuesday afternoon. Several trees flew down the cliff toward the Riverview Condo Complex but no residents were injured.

The condos are evacuated until the house situation is resolved.

The city speculates that a burst pipe may be to blame.
