BRIDGEPORT - Bridgeport police are searching for a killer following the city's first murder of 2010.

The fatal shooting happened Monday night on Kossuth Street near the intersection of Pearl Street. That's where 29-year-old Raymond Fernandez, of Ansonia, was shot several times while riding in a car.

Fernandez's family says the father of two was in Bridgeport to visit friends. Relatives say they can't understand why anyone would want to kill him.

Police say they're still unsure about a motive for the killing. Late Monday afternoon, they removed surveillance video from a nearby store but would not comment about what the tapes show.

Anyone with information about the murder is urged to call Bridgeport police at 203-581-5201.
