Shooting victim found outside vacant home dies

BRIDGEPORT - A Bridgeport man died Friday after being found with a gunshot wound to the head outside a vacant house.

Anthony Smith, 32, known as Tone to his friends, was found lying on the ground at around 10:30 p.m. Thursday. Smith was found on the driveway of 1216 Iranistan Ave., which neighbors say is vacant.

According to police, Smith was rushed to Saint Vincent's Medical Center and put on life support but died the following morning.

Bridgeport police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 203-354-INFO.
