NORWALK - Parents of students at a Norwalk elementary school are demanding police protection after two shootings near the school this week.

Many came out last night looking for answers at Columbus Magnet School.

They say they fear it's only a matter of time before someone is hurt by a stray bullet.

Police Chief Harry Rilling says two officers will now patrol the area during school hours.

Tuesday, police shut down Ely Avenue and Austin Street after shots were fired at a taxi cab.

Yesterday, police say a 22-year-old man was shot a half mile down the road near Glasser Street and Soundview Avenue.
