Sketch artist helps catch 'con' artist

(07/23/10) STAMFORD - A judge upheld the $150,000 bail bond for the 43-year-old woman allegedly involved in a home robbery that left a man shot in his testicles.

Police say they were able to catch Rosa Hernandez, of Stamford, because of the incredible resemblance she bares to the drawing by a police sketch artist. Police say they were able to spot Hernandez and arrest her very quickly.

Hernandez and two male accomplices allegedly approached their victim on Atlantic Street near Woodlawn Avenue and asked him for $2. When the man refused to hand over the money, police say one of the male accomplices shot him in the thigh. The bullet went through his thigh and scrotum and became lodged in his other thigh.
