WESTPORT - The thick layer of slush left behind from Tuesday morning?s storm has been the cause of several accidents throughout southwestern Connecticut.

One driver who was involved in an accident on I-95 was extricated from his vehicle on a back board and taken to the hospital. Officials say he is expected to be alright.

Another driver involved in an accident on Post Road East suffered a minor injury to their hand after the car?s airbag deployed.

Although no serious injuries have been reported from these accidents, officials say they do serve as a reminder to take it slow when the roads are slippery.
