NORWALK - After shopping at larger stores on Black Friday, people in Southwestern Connecticut supported their local mom-and-pop stores today during Small Business Saturday.
Small business owners in Greenwich say Small Business Saturday helps them bring in more shoppers.
They also say their stores offer customers something they can't get at many larger stores.
Small business advocates say supporting small businesses is good for the local economy. They say businesses are ready for the shoppers.
Marcia O'Kane of the Greenwich Chamber of Commerce says Small Business Saturday has typically brought a surge of shoppers into local mom-and-pop stores. She says she expects this year to be just as busy, if not busier, for them.
