Small plane lands on Major Deegan Expressway in the Bronx
THE BRONX - A small plane from Connecticut made an emergency landing on a highway in the Bronx today.
The small plane came down on the northbound side of the Major Deegan Expressway. New York City’s officials say the plane took off from the Danbury Municipal Airport for a tour of the Statue of Liberty and was headed back to Danbury.
The plane experienced an unknown emergency and made a controlled emergency landing near 233rd Street in the Bronx, not far from the Westchester border.

No one suffered serious injuries. No cars were struck by the plane as it landed.
