Smash & grab robbers hit Fairfield jeweler

FAIRFIELD - Fairfield police are searching for four men who robbed the Lenox Jewelers on Black Rock Turnpike Wednesday night.

Police say several customers were in the store when five men came in with hammers and started smashing cases and grabbing jewelry.

The robbers then jumped into two cars and led police on a chase along the Merritt Parkway. Police caught up with one car and arrested one of the suspects

Anyone with information about the robbery is urged to call Fairfield police at 203-254-4800.
