STAMFORD - The smell of gas is causing concern for one community in Stamford.

Eversource Energy crews were out working on a broken gas line Thursday on Glen Terrace.

Some people who live in the area say they have been smelling gas for up to a year.

An Eversource spokesman says their records only show four visits to the area in the last two years. He also says Thursday's gas main break was fixed.

Eversource says crews drill holes into the street to take multiple readings, and workers will dig up the gas line if the readings come back high.

The utility recommends calling 911 immediately if you smell anything unusual.
