BRIDGEPORT - The City of Bridgeport is under a snow emergency, and plows are hitting the streets now that the snow has begun.

Mayor Bill Finch says residents need to pay close attention to alerts, such as alternate side parking rules and parking bans.

The city will be doling out fines and towing cars if necessary as the effort to keep the roads clear is underway.

City workers say they want to be as efficient with snow removal as possible.
