NORWALK - Although things had mostly been cleaned up by the Thursday evening commute, drivers and New Year's Eve travelers faced severe weather and slippery roadways during a morning snowstorm.

Several cars spun out after losing control on the roads' icy surfaces. By early afternoon the snow let up, but plows continued to clear roadways.

Norwalk Public Works officials said plows would be out in force to make sure New Year?s travel is as safe as possible.
