Soccer fans in southwestern Connecticut flocked to local businesses to get their gear and watch the first game of the World Cup on Thursday.

Over the next month, 32 nations will fight for soccer's most coveted trophy, and local businesses are hoping the event will boost their bottom lines.

Castle Bar and Grill on Summer Street in Stamford put some preparation into hosting the event....
