Pipe-bursting sound alarms Bridgeport residents

Bridgeport officials say multiple residents called 911 to report a loud noise echoing through the city Monday night.

Officials say a ruptured steam pipe at the power plant in the South End is the source of the noise.

BRIDGEPORT - Bridgeport officials say multiple residents called 911 to report a loud noise echoing through the city Monday night.

Officials say a ruptured steam pipe at the power plant in the South End is the source of the noise.

Officials also say the ruptured pipe caused no risk to the public.

No injuries were reported.
