WESTPORT - With strong winds expected over the next couple of days, some local homeowners took steps today to prevent trees from falling on their properties.
One Westport resident called experts to have a tree cut down today after it was damaged in a previous storm.
Evonne Barnes says she was worried her willow tree might cause serious damage to her neighbor?s home if it fell completely.
Bob Bociek, of Almstead Tree and Shub Care, says there are warning signs a tree could be an issue when it comes to Mother Nature. He says residents should look out for "V"-shaped spots in tree limbs, because if a windstorm hits, that's where it will snap.
