NORWALK - Emergency management officials across southwestern Connecticut are keeping a close eye on Hurricane Earl this week.

Officials say they are checking supply levels and alerting response teams should the storm turn toward southwestern Connecticut.

In Westport, officials checked on possible shelters, including the Long Lots School, pulling out supplies and testing telephone lines.

Meanwhile, Norwalk Deputy Emergency Director Michele Deluca says the city's hurricane response plans get pulled out about 96 hours before the storm is anticipated to hit the area.
