Southwestern Conn. prepares for snow, ice

NEW CANAAN - Another winter storm is headed toward southwestern Connecticut and this one could bring ice along with snow.

In New Canaan, town officials say they're preparing for as much as a half-inch of ice tomorrow into Wednesday.  That would be enough to do a number on power lines and tree limbs.

Assistant Fire Chief Jack Hennesy says ice certainly makes things more difficult for them. In addition to spin outs and crashes, they tend to get slip and fall calls.

Highway Supervisor Mose Saccary says he has an extra 400 tons of ice melt on its way for the upcoming storm.
