BRIDGEPORT - As prices continue to rise at the pumps, southwestern Connecticut residents are considering vacationing at home this summer.

Experts say the staycation is back in style, just as it was in 2008 when gas prices soared.

Local merchants say the advantage to the staycation is three-fold this summer: You save on gas, get discounts and can spend more on fun.

Officials say lines at local attractions such as the Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk have already grown with an average of 4,000 people per day this holiday week.
