STAMFORD - Residents in Southwestern Connecticut are cleaning up today following Sunday's powerful thunderstorm. In Stamford, downed trees and power lines blocked some roads as crews from Connecticut Light and Power came to assist with the cleanup. Residents on Erskine Road in Stamford blame the large trees in the area for frequently knocking out their power. CL&P officials say residents remaining without power should have it restored by the end of the day.
