STAMFORD - Residents across southwestern Connecticut spent the morning shoveling out after the ninth storm this winter dropped up to 6 inches of snow across the region.

In Stamford, the main roads were cleared by late morning and crews worked throughout the afternoon to plow the remaining side streets.

Residents say the snow made for an exhausting day filled with plenty of shoveling. They say they not only had to dig out cars and front yards, but also were required to clear the sidewalks outside their homes to avoid a hefty fine.
