STRATFORD - Voters in Stratford will head to the polls Tuesday for a special election to decide who will take the state Legislature seat vacated when John Harkins was elected mayor.

Democrat Janice Anderson and Republican Laura Hoydick are both seeking the job.

Anderson says her work with a regional non-profit has given her the tools to be effective in Hartford.

Hoydick cited her business experience and seven years on the town's Board of Education as reasons she should be elected.

The winner will serve the nine months remaining in Harkin's term.
