MILFORD - School officials have confirmed St. Ann Catholic School in Milford will close at the end of the year.
Carol Schweitzer, the principal of St. Ann, says there are only 78 students currently enrolled in the school.
The Archdiocese of Hartford says there has been a 55 percent drop in enrollment over the last 10 years. The Archdiocese has been paying the parish to offset the school's deficit.
A letter was sent home to parents informing them of the closure. In the letter, principal Schweitzer told parents they should enroll their children in one of Milford's two other Catholic schools.
