STAMFORD - Stamford schools have canceled part of the April vacation to help make up for all the recent snow days.

Students will now be in class on Monday, April 18.

A Stamford school officials says that may not be the case for long. They say right now they are scheduled for one more than the minimum 180 days and may choose to cancel the 181st day of school and reinstate the full week off in April. A meeting to discuss that option will take place later this month.

Meanwhile, the Amity Region 5 district will not touch its February vacation set for next week. However, it has canceled planned days off on Presidents Day as well as March 30, which was supposed to be a teacher development day.

In Westport, officials voted not to touch February or April vacation, but did cancel a scheduled off day on Feb. 28.
