STAMFORD - The Stamford woman mauled by a friend's chimpanzee returned to Stamford Hospital to thank the doctors who helped save her life.
Dr. Christine Hamilton Hall says she was the first surgeon to treat Charla Nash after the February 2009 attack in which the woman lost her hands and most of her face.
Dr. Hall says Nash is getting stronger and has options when it comes to reconstructive surgery. She says a transplant isn't the only alternative.
Nash is currently at an assisted living facility in Boston.
