STAMFORD - Stamford police say a home day care center has voluntarily turned over its license to operate to the state after the death of a 2-month-old.
Little Bear Beginnings day care has been closed since the child was brought to the hospital on July 12. According to the state medical examiner, the baby suffered a head injury. Officials say it is unknown how or where the injury occurred.
The Stamford Advocate reports that the day care had its license suspended earlier this month. According to Stamford police, the owner had planned to fight the suspension, but instead voluntarily surrendered her license.
According to Stamford Police Capt. Richard Conklin, by surrendering her license, the owner can reapply for another one at any time. However, it is unclear if the day care will reopen.
So far, no arrests have been made in the case.
