STAMFORD - Teachers at eight day care centers in Stamford say they could soon go on strike.
Teachers say contract talks have broken down and they could go on strike at any time.
Childcare Learning Center Executive Director Barbara Garvin-Kester says the main cause of strife comes from minimal funding from state and federal government, causing the company to ask teachers to contribute almost double what they already pay toward their health care premiums.
The teachers union says that would make it unaffordable for some teachers to live in Stamford, so they've threatened to strike.
About 1,000 kids attend Childcare Learning Centers in the city.
