STAMFORD - A Stamford doctor is warning school officials to be on the lookout for "buffing," which he says is a popular new way for teens to take heroin.

Dr. Vincent Carlesi says that by placing heroin in a wet napkin and inserting it into the rectum, heroin users can leave no signs of use and cause an instant and long-acting high.

Three students at one local high school were recently suspended for ?buffing? and Dr. Carlesi says that as many as one out of every 25 kids had tried it in 2009.

Dr. Carlesi says one of the many dangers of ?buffing? are heart attacks, which is why he is warning schools. For more on the Dept. of Children and Families Click Here
