STAMFORD - The parents of fallen Navy SEAL Brian Bill, who lost his life in Afghanistan, spoke with News 12 Connecticut today about the importance of celebrating Memorial Day.

Bill's family says Memorial Day means a lot to them in light of the loss of their son. They were among those who took part in this year's Memorial Day Parade in Stamford, which was held this afternoon.

Bill's mother, Pat Parry, supports a group called Carry the Load, which aims to bring meaning to Memorial Day by honoring the sacrifices made by members of the military, law enforcement officers, firefighters and their families. She's planning to localize the cause in the coming months.
