STAMFORD - Thousands gathered in Stamford Saturday afternoon for a celebration of everything Irish.

The city's 18th annual St. Patrick's Day Parade was held under sunny skies in downtown Stamford.

Many in attendance told News 12 that they were happy to see the sun shining during the event. Parade-time temperatures were around 50 degrees.

The parade began at noon on Main Street near Columbus Park and ended at Latham Park off Bedford Street.
