STAMFORD - A Stamford house where five people died in a Christmas morning fire has been torn down.

Officials ordered the $1.7 million home torn down for safety reasons.

The fire broke out yesterday morning at Madonna Badger's home on Shipman Avenue while she, a male acquaintance, her three children and her parents were inside.

Police say Badger's three daughters, a 10-year-old and 7-year-old twins, and her parents, died in the fire.

Badger and her male acquaintance both escaped the flames.

Officials say that Badger has been released from the hospital after sustaining injuries from the fire.Authorities tell News 12 Connecticut that results of the investigation into the fire will be released tomorrow afternoon.
