STAMFORD - Stamford Library's board of trustees says budget cuts will likely force them to cut hours and maybe even close some branches.
Stamford Mayor Michael Pavia's proposed budget includes a 10 percent cut in library funding.
Many library patrons are against the cuts saying they rely on the library for books and movies. Others say they use the library's computers to help them look for jobs.
The city issued a statement Wednesday saying it's doing its best to fund agencies and programs in this very difficult fiscal environment.
