Stamford man charged for role in fatal accident

STAMFORD - A Stamford man is being charged with distracted driving for his role in a deadly accident earlier this year.

Abdul Aziz, 72, suffered a fatal head injury back in May after his bicycle crashed into the side of a minivan on Tresser Boulevard. 

Police say the driver, 28-year-old Jerry Bastien, was using his cellphone at the time of the crash.

He's due in court later this month.
