STAMFORD - The man who investigators say shot a Stamford police officer in the face back in December pleaded not guilty today to weapon and drug trafficking charges.
Police say they were outside 27-year-old Ephraim Goitom's home serving a search warrant for drugs when he fired through his front door. The bullet hit Officer Richard Gasperino in the face.
Goitom has been in police custody since the incident and Gasperino has since recovered.
Goitom is also facing charges for attempted murder.
