STAMFORD - Stamford Mayor Michael Pavia today took steps to end a labor dispute that threatens the child care for nearly 1,000 kids in the city.
Last week, unionized teachers working for Childcare Learning Centers throughout Stamford threatened to strike at any time due to a breakdown in contract negotiations.
Pavia says he met with management today to get an update on negotiations, and he said he plans to meet with union officials tomorrow.
School officials have told News 12 Connecticut if there is a strike, management would only be able to offer child care services to a handful of its clients.
