STAMFORD - Stamford officials say they are putting new traffic safety enhancements into place across the city.
The city has installed a new crosswalk sign at the corner of Lockwood Avenue and Lillian Street.
The mayor says the signage is meant to slow traffic and bring attention to pedestrians.
Mayor David Martin says the city has focused on installing the new signs near schools.
Mayor Martin says Stamford now has nearly 40 of the signs at crosswalks, and the city plans to add more.
